SALINE COUNTY - An electrical issue causes a Brookville house fire, resulting in major interior damages.

According to Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan, on Sunday morning a house fire occurred in Brookville.

Reportedly, the 39-year old male owner of the home reported he was in his house and suddenly heard a "popping sound." The man went to check his breaker box and noticed sparks and smoke coming out of it.

Rural Fire District (RFD) #5 responded to the scene and found the fire coming from the attic. RFD #5 needed to break down parts of the ceiling in order to successfully extinguish the fire.

There was smoke and water damage to the house, after the fire was ceased.

Nobody was injured from the fire.

Value of the home is about a $140,000 not including personal property that was damaged.
