A Salina teen broke into a store after hours before his arrest.
According to the Salina Police Department (SPD) on July 29 at about 4:45 am, officers responded to an alarm at Dollar General (840 E. Crawford).
While en route, someone called and reported hearing a loud noise coming from the store and observed someone inside.
Upon arrival, officers observed the front door glass of the building shattered.
Officers then observed a male wearing dark clothing inside the store and took him into custody without incident. Officers then cleared the building and did not locate anyone else.
The suspect was identified as Michael Patterson (18) of Salina.
The items Patterson attempted to steal are still being inventoried.
He was booked into the Saline County Jail in reference to Burglary, Theft, and Damage to Property.
The case is still under investigation.
