Local government offices, facilities closing for July 4

The Fourth of July holiday brings with it local government closings.

Because city offices are currently closed on Friday’s due to staff reductions and the financial impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, city offices also will be closed on Thursday in observance of the Independence Day holiday. City staff will return on July 6.

The Independence Day schedule for City of Salina General Services work groups is as follows.

Sanitation and landfill: Sanitation and Landfill crews will be working normal operating hours.

General services office: The General Services office will be closed Friday, with normal operating hours resuming July 6.

SDRC: The Salina Drive-thru Recycling Center will be closed Saturday, with normal operating hours resuming July 8.

HHW: The Household Hazardous Waste facility will be closed Saturday, with appointments by phone resuming July 6 and normal operating hours resuming July 9.

County offices and facilities will be closed Friday in observance of the Fourth of July holiday.
