Harold Otis Elsasser, age 96, died in Clyde, Kansas on May 19, 2021. He was born in Industry, KS on December 7, 1924 to Herman and Sophia (Bletscher) Elsasser. Harold grew up in Industry and was a graduate of Clay Center High School. He was drafted in 1945 during WWII and served in the Philippines. Harold returned to the Clay County area after his time in the Army.
Harold married Nola Eib on June 4, 1950. They made their home outside of Wakefield, where Harold farmed along side his father and brother. Harold and Nola moved their family to Clifton in 1964. Harold continued to farm until he was around 90 years old.
He enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, hunting and fishing when he was younger, but above all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Harold was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Faith United Church Presbyterian, and had served on the co-op board.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Chris and Duane Elsasser; sister Loretta Hafner and infant sister Myra.

Grandchildren: Jared (Jayna) Elsasser, Alison Elsasser, Ashley Elsasser, Shannon (Justin) O’Hara, Gretchen (Clayton) Zimmerman, Eric (Tara) Elsasser, Katelyn (Ben) Thompson, Brian (Morgan) Elsasser, Drew (Olivia) Elsasser, Matt (Amber) Elsasser, and 18 great-grandchildren
Funeral services: Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Faith United Church Presbyterian in Clifton, KS
Minister: Pastor Roxie Baer
Burial: Pleasant View Cemetery, Vining, KS
Visitation: Friday, May 28, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Faith United Church Presbyterian
