Gerardo “Jerry” Torres passed away peacefully October 24, 2024. Jerry was born January 21, 1990 in Los Angeles, California to Juan and Irene Torres. Raised in Salina, Kansas, he was a graduate of Salina South High School in 2008 and later graduated from Old Town Barber College.
Jerry was a devoted, loving father to his son, Noel. Nothing brought him more joy than cheering on Noel during his sporting events. Jerry was often known as the life of the party and could always bring a smile to your face. He loved to host and grill for all his family and friends, especially for “Sunday Funday”. Forever the “Fun Uncle”, his nieces and nephews often looked forward to family gatherings where they knew an adventure awaited with Uncle Jerry. Beloved by many he will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity to all those around him.
Jerry is survived by his son, Noel; parents, Juan and Irene Torres; brothers Jorge Torres (Marisol); Juan Torres Jr. (Imelda); and Willy Torres (Brenda); sisters Lupe Solis and Blanca LeSage (Parker); 11 nephews; 6 nieces; and 2 great-nieces.
Preceded in death by sister Hioana; maternal grandparents, Agustin Murillo and Lidia Ortega; and paternal grandmother, Consuelo Martinez Gurrero.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Rosary will begin at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Burial will follow in All Saints Catholic Cemetery.
