SALINE COUNTY —Two semi drivers were injured in accidents during the thunderstrorm just after 9p.m. Monday in Saline County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2026 Volvo semi driven by Sergot Alcide, 46, Connecticut, was westbound on Interstate 70 at Brookville Road. Strong winds blew the vehicle and trailer over.
At the same time, a 2025 Peterbilt semi driven by Paul Cheche Kanja, 50, Kansas City, Missouri, pulled over onto the westbound shoulder of Interstate 70 at Reese Road. Strong winds pushed the vehicle and trailer over.
EMS transported Alcide and Kanja to Salina Regional Health Center. Both were properly restrained at the time of the accident.
