Louise Beckman

Louise Beckman, 102 passed through death to eternal life on August 4, 2020. She lived in Lindsborg, Kansas for fifteen years. She was born and reared in the Minneapolis, Minnesota area. Louise and her husband Rev. Axel Beckman served congregations in East Orange, New Jersey, Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Jamestown, New York, Kansas City Missouri, New Orleans, Louisiana, Duncanville, Texas, and Seminole, Florida.

In her youth, Louise was an avid tennis player and enjoyed ice skating in the winter. She was a wonderful pastor’s spouse who consistently showed love, compassion, forgiveness, and confidentiality. She was a women’s ministry leader in every congregation they served.

She is remembered for her humor, for loving others, her playful/ teasing manor, and her strong faith in her Lord Jesus Christ. Louise treasured her friendships with many all over the country. She dearly loved and cared for her family.

Louise is survived by her daughter Janice Rathlef and her husband John from Lindsborg, Kansas; her son J.T. Beckman and his wife Usha from Beaumont, Texas; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Axel Beckman and her son, Jim Beckman.

We thank the staff at the Bethany Home Assisted Living in Lindsborg who provided loving care for Louise for the last five years.
