The Southeast of Saline boy’s track and field team collected their fourth meet win of the season at this year’s Beloit Relays breaking several records in the process.

The team dominated the competition with 14 podiums including nine gold medals to make it back-to-back victories after a win last week at Abilene.

The Trojans put an athlete on the podium at every single running distance, starting with a 1-2 for Michael Murray and Chase Poague in the 100m dash.

Next, it was Nakari Morrical-Palmer’s time to shine as the junior took third in the 200 and won the 400, followed closely by Omar Calzada who made it a Trojan 1-3 finish around the track.

Dylan Sprecker dominated the distance runs cleaning up wins in the 800, 1600, and 3200. His time of 9:33.36 in the 3200 was good enough to break the previous meet record that had stood since 1977.

Levi Allen would claim silver in the 3200, marking a third podium featuring two Trojans, and the second 1-2 finish of the day.

Poague rounded out the day on the track with two predictable, but still impressive victories in the 110m and 300m hurdles, keeping his undefeated hurdle record intact while Sprecker remains undefeated in distance runs.

Jude Golden claimed third in the Javelin and proved that he possesses more than “thrower’s speed” helping the 4x100 relay team shatter the meet and school record with a time of 43.38.

That would mark the first of two relay wins as the Sprecker-anchored 4x400 relay team took the top spot in one of the final races of the day, further solidifying the Trojan dominance.

On the girl’s side of things, Abby Commerford and Cali Augustine would take second and third respectively in the 3200 and 800 with the 4x800 relay team claiming a third podium.

Southeast of Saline will host Abilene, Beloit, Bennington, Minneapolis and Sacred Heart at their home track meet on May 6 before the league meet officially kicks off the postseason on May 12.
