Dustin Michael Cyr, age 31, entered into rest Thursday, August 19, 2021 in Longford, Kansas. He was born in Concordia, Kansas on January 21, 1990 to Marty and Brenda (Marcotte) Cyr.
He was a 2008 Clifton-Clyde High School graduate, Clyde, Kansas.
Dustin excelled at all sports throughout his youth and especially at Clifton-Clyde High School Football where he still holds many records. He was an avid golfer and loved playing rounds of golf with his grandpa Kenny. Dustin cherished his time with his daughter Harper and also enjoyed sharing the art of golf with her.
Dustin was a union laborer working for several years for the Emery Bros. out of Kansas City.
Dustin was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Wayne Cyr and his paternal grandmother Janice Smith.
Dustin is survived by his daughter Harper Jo; his parents Marty and Brenda, Longford, KS; sister Kim Birdsall (Brady) and his nephew Blaine; step-sister Carly Wood, nephew Blaise and niece Gwyneth, Derby, KS; step-brother Trahan Cry, nephew Tristan, Topeka, KS; maternal grandparents Kenny and Christine Marcotte, aunts and uncles Cheryl and Bobby Crawford, Ann and Leroy Bessette, all of Clyde; David Cyr (Christopher), Buffalo, New York; and several cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Chaput Mortuary, Clyde, with the family receiving friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Celebration of Life service will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 26, 2021 at the Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Clyde, Kansas, with Fr. Steven Heina Officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials to the Clifton-Clyde football team in memory of Dustin in care of Chaput Mortuary, P.O. Box 291, Clyde, KS 66938.
