WINFIELD - Both Kansas Wesleyan University soccer teams lost to Southwestern College Wednesday.
Coyote women
Kansas Wesleyan women's soccer dropped a 2-0 decision to Southwestern on Wednesday at Jantz Stadium.
Both goals for Southwestern were just unlucky moments for the Coyotes.
Southwestern's first goal came when a clearance by the Coyote back line hit Southwestern's Hailey Rouse in the chest, and she was able to corral it, dribble in and shoot from 20 yards out for the score in the 55th minute.
The second goal for Southwestern came with just over a minute left in the match when the 'Builders had a direct kick that glanced off the crossbar and trickled into the goal.
Kansas Wesleyan outshot Southwestern 12-8 in the match led by three shots by Lissette Garcia (SR/Bakersfield, Calif.).
The Coyotes are back in action on Saturday, hosting McPherson College at 6 p.m. at the Graves Family Sports Complex.
Coyote men
After leading 2-0 at the half, Kansas Wesleyan gave up four second half goals to Southwestern in a 4-2 loss on Wednesday at Jantz Stadium.
The Coyotes took an early lead in the second minute on a goal by Luis Simbron (SR/Miami, Fla.) and extended the lead to 2-0 in the 39th minute on a goal by Israel Good (FR/Beaumont, Calif.) that was assisted by Zachary Lockwood (JR/Bakersfield, Calif.).
However, Southwestern would respond with four second half goals for the win.
Southwestern outshot the Coyotes 20-9 in the match. Good led the Coyotes with three shots.
The Coyotes will close out the regular season on Saturday, hosting McPherson at 8:30 p.m. at the Graves Family Sports Complex.
