K-STATE CONCLUDES HOMESTAND VS. OKLAHOMA STATE WEDNESDAY
K-State (8-11, 2-6 Big 12) concludes its 2-game homestand on Wednesday night, as the Wildcats welcome Oklahoma State (10-9, 2-6 Big 12) at 7 p.m., CT on CBS Sports Network. The Cowboys are the first repeat opponent this season after they posted a 79-66 win at home on Jan. 7. The K-State coaching staff will be wearing suits and sneakers for annual NABC Coaches vs. Cancer Suits & Sneakers event.
K-State snapped a 6-game losing streak (the longest of the Jerome Tang era) in the win over No. 23/23 West Virginia on Saturday. The Wildcats will be looking for back-to-back wins for the first time since the Longwood and UAPB victories on Nov. 25 and Dec. 1, 2024.
K-State leads the all-time series, 87-60, but Oklahoma State has a 25-20 advantage in the Big 12 era, which a 25-17 mark in the regular season with back-to-back wins. The Wildcats have a 44-18 edge in games played at home, including 16-12 at Bramlage Coliseum with 3 consecutive wins.
LAST TIME OUT
K-State jumped out to 19-2 lead over No. 23/23 West Virginia on Saturday night and never looked back to emphatically end a 6-game skid with a 73-60 win at Bramlage Coliseum. The win was not only the first of the calendar year 2025, but also gave the Wildcats their second Top 25 win of the
season. Head coach Jerome Tang is now 11-3 at home vs. AP Top 25 opponents in his tenure.
The Wildcats led by as many 26 points in the first half before taking a 42-18 lead into the halftime break. The 42 first-half points were the most the team has scored in Big 12 play this season, while the 18 points were the fewest allowed in any opening half this season.
Balanced scoring was the key, as five Wildcats scored in double figures, including a 15-point, game-high 6-assist performance from junior Dug McDaniel.
KEY STORYLINES
- Newcomers have combined to score 1066 (77.3 percent) of the team’s 1380 points, accounting for 49 of 66 double-digit scoring games. Senior returner David N’Guessan has scored in double figures in 17 games, but the next 6 highest scorers are newcomers, including 12 double-digit scoring efforts by junior Brendan Hausen, 11 by senior Coleman Hawkins and 10 by senior Max Jones.
- N’Guessan has been the Wildcats’ most consistent player, as he leads in both scoring (12.7 ppg.) and rebounding (7.2 rpg.) while hitting on a Big 12-best 64.2 percent (97-of-151). He has scored in double digits in 7 Big 12 games, including double-doubles vs. TCU (1/4/25), Oklahoma State (1/7/25) and Baylor (1/22/25). His 17 boards vs. TCU tied for the third-most by a Wildcat in a Big 12 game.
- Hawkins is the only player in Division I averaging at least 10.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks per game this season. He is the team’s leading scorer in Big 12 play at 12.8 points per game, while averaging 6.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.0 blocks per game. He became the first Wildcat to post a points/assists double-double vs. Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse, as he collected his ninth career double-double with 15 points and a career-tying 10 assists.
A K-STATE WIN WOULD…

- Extend its winning streak to 4 games vs. OSU at home.
- Be the first by Jerome Tang over Steve Lutz.
