Last yearâs football game between Ell-Saline and Little River was an instant classic, and this yearâs is shaping up to be a satisfying conclusion to this new trilogy.
Since re-joining the 8-man ranks, the Cardinals and Redskins have battled three times, with Little River winning the inaugural meeting, and Ell-Saline taking the last two.

These teams have been on a collision course since week two, with Little River entering the night undefeated and ranked 2nd in the state, and Ell-Saline riding a four-game winning streak into homecoming.
The Cardinals were bested by Hanover in week one, havenât played in a single third quarter since, winning each of their last four games by mercy rule at halftime.
Those victories have come by a combined score of 204-6, and have paired stifling defense with explosive offense, led by Reese Krone and Kas Kramer, who have combined for 22 touchdowns already this year.
Somehow, Little Riverâs resume looks even more impressive, with a 5-0 record, and a +266 point differential, outscoring opponents by an average of 53 points per game.
For the Redskins, a dual-quarterback tandem of Jaxson Konen and Jaren Garrison has led the way, with the duo combining for 20 touchdowns all on their own, before accounting for skill players.
Both teams feature unstoppable offenses, and immovable defenses, which should set us up for a thrilling game in Brookville this evening.
Tonightâs game will be streamed 100% free of charge on the Salina Post Sports Network, and the broadcast will be available both live and on demand.
