Craig Eugene Miller, 77, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, surrounded by his family at Ascension Via Christi St. Teresa, Wichita, KS.

He was born on October 25, 1948, in Beloit, KS, the son of Floyd Eugene and Wanda Janice (Hart) Miller.  He graduated from Downs High School (Downs, KS) in 1967 and from Beloit Vo-Tech (Beloit, KS) in 1968.

On November 6, 1996, Craig married Elaine Marie (Schwartz) Thul, and together they lovingly brought their families together forming a blended family with Craig’s children, Eric, Ryan, and Kelly, and Elaine’s children, Jeremy and Travis.

Craig was a meticulous, skilled carpenter and craftsman who took great pride in his work.  He owned and operated Miller’s Carpet Service.  In his earlier career, he worked for Pyle Construction.

Craig always wore a smile and never met a stranger.  He loved people and could always be heard—even if he couldn’t always hear you!  Craig enjoyed telling stories about the many adventures of his life, from his younger years as a custom harvester to riding dirt bikes while living in Colorado, and later, his years riding his Harley-Davidson.  He loved the outdoors—hunting, fishing, and especially opening weekend of pheasant season in Downs with the men of his family.  He treasured the many years spent at the cabin at Marion County Lake.  Craig lived life to the fullest and made new friends wherever he went.

He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Elaine of the home; children, Eric Miller (Deborah) of McPherson, KS, Ryan Miller (Sherri) of McPherson, KS, and Kelly Morrow (Matt) of Lenexa, KS; step-sons, Jeremy Thul (Misty Freed) of McPherson, KS and Travis Thul (Chelsea) of McPherson, KS; siblings, Eddie Miller (Sonja) of Downs, KS, Mary Pirotte (Scott) of Phillipsburg, KS, and Vernon Miller (LaVona) of McPherson, KS: 15 grandchildren, Cody Miller (Brittney), Macy Casebeer (Jess), Austin Mitchell (Kelsey), Brooke Dolph (Nathan), Mason Miller (Jaden Martinson), Gavin Soukup, Ally Dees (Brylen), Aislyn Soukup, Clayton Morrow (Amber), Alena Hunter (Scott), Carter Thul, Maddox Thul, Farrah Thul, Trenton Huff, and Alexia Cheek; eight great-grandchildren; and many extended relatives and friends.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Carl Miller and Nancy Bergman.

A celebration of Craig’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 31, 2026, at The Yard in Galva, KS.

Memorial donations may be given to Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
