Late yesterday evening, Salina Fire Department (SFD) firefighters responded to 650 East Crawford Street for a head-on collision that required the use of the Jaws of Life.
According to SFD Deputy Chief Shane Pearson, just before 9:06 p.m., the driver of one vehicle crossed over the center line of Crawford Street and crashed head-on into another car.
"There were two [occupants] in that car, and they both were transported but no life-threatening injuries," Pearson said.
Pearson said local emergency services did not transport the other vehicle's occupants to Salina Regional Health Center.

Still, firefighters used the Jaws of Life to extricate one of the passengers from the car that crossed over the centerline on Crawford.
"While they were getting one of the patients out of the cars, they did have to remove the passenger door," Pearson said. "It was off the car."
Salina Post contacted the Salina Police Department (SPD), and according to SPD Capt. James Feldman, officers are still working to complete the accident report.
Salina Post will update the story as more information becomes available.
