Mary "Tootsie" Schmidt, 74, died March 18, 2021 at Hillsboro Community Hospital. She was born May 12, 1946 in Hillsboro to Charles and Bernice (Steiner) McDowell. She married Jerry Schmidt June 18, 1987 in Marion. Survivors include: sons, Christopher (Terry Pierce) Frantz of rural Hillsboro, Mitchell Frantz of Hillsboro; sister, Shirley (Brian) Lewis of Wichita; stepson, Jeffery (Lori) Schmidt; adopted daughter, Mary Anne Warden; 6 grandchildren, Alex Schmidt, Logan and Jaidyn Frantz, Kaley, Hanna and Derek Warden; many nieces and nephews. And a whole host family and friends that love her, and many people that she has adopted.
Celebration of Life Service 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hillsboro officiated by Pastor John Werner. Interment in Durham Park cemetery rural Durham. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Memorials to Trojan Booster Club in care of Jost Funeral Home P.O.
