Dewane Delbert Crawford, 91, passed away on June 25, 2023 at his home in Salina with family by his side.
Dewane was born on February 28, 1932 in Osborne, KS to parents Elton Claire and Isabelle Mischler Crawford.
Dewane served in the US Army from 1952 until 1954 as a driver and #1 Gunner and pulled 105 Howitzers.
He lived and worked in California for many years then returned to Salina and worked for Salina Concrete Products until retirement at the age of 72.
He was a member of the Salina VFW Post 1432 and Thursday Night Car Cruising Club in Salina. He loved taking his cars, a Ford Fairlane, Plymouth Barracuda and El Camino Royal Knight to car shows.
He was preceded in death by Isabelle Crawford (Mother), Elton Claire Crawford (Father), Richard Crawford (Brother), Edith Radke (Sister), Kenneth Crawford (Brother), Martha (Pohlman) Fox, Charlotte (Boos) Crawford, Nancy (Powell) Crawford (wives).
Dewane is survived by: Children Rick Crawford and spouse Robin of Culver, KS, Terri Dawson and spouse Grant of Salina, KS, Jim Crawford and spouse Debbie of Solomon, KS; Others: Elton J. Crawford, (Brother) and spouse Marilyn of Salina, KS, Lloyd Crawford (Brother) and spouse Paula of Sequoia, WA, Elmo Mischler (Uncle) , Duane Radke (Brother-in-Law), Joyce Zimmerman (Special Companion), Many Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.
Friends and family will be received Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 4 PM until 6 PM at Roselawn Memorial Heights Chapel, 1920 E. Crawford Salina, KS 67401. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 30, 2023 at 10:30 AM in the Roselawn Memorial Heights Chapel in Salina, with Pastor Jon Fillipi officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Salina, KS. Memorials may be made to Salina VFW Post #1432 or Hospice of Salina.
