On Monday a Salina man was arrested after he allegedly threatened to "cut up" a 16-year-old family member with a knife.
Just after 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6 Salina Police officers responded to a 911 call placed by a 16-year-old reporting a domestic incident in the 1000 block of N. Fifth Street.
Salina Police Sergeant Kyle Tonniges told Salina Post this morning that when officers arrived at the scene they located the 911 caller and his mother who witnessed the argument and alleged threat.
According to an SPD report, 49-year-old Salina resident Manford Jackson made threats during an argument with his 16-year-old family member.
"They [victims] were involved in arguing with him. At this point he [Manford] pulled out a knife which was described as a five to six-inch knife with a fixed blade knife. He pulled this knife out and threatened the 16 year old said he was going to cut his body up," Tonniges said.
Tonniges said the 911 call was made after Manford issued a threat using a knife.
While officers arrested Manford, they discovered a marijuana pipe which led to additional requested charges.
"We arrested him for aggravated assault and criminal threat and he had a marijuana pipe in his pocket so he was also charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia," Tonniges said.
