A Salina woman faces a $1,270 loss after cash and book bag were taken from her vehicle early this past weekend.

Sometime between 8 p.m. Friday and 8:45 a.m. Saturday, someone stole a pink Herschel book bag, a wallet, and a planner belonging to Cynthia Armijo, 24, of Salina, from her 2019 Nissan Altima in the 400 block of Star Drive, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester reported this morning.

Armijo told police that she was awakened on Saturday by messages on her phone that her wallet and planner had been found at the McDonald's at 2236 Planet Avenue. Upon entering her car to go to McDonald's, she realized that someone had gone through her car and that she was missing the book bag, planner, and wallet that contained $1,200 in cash, Forrester noted.

When Armijo arrived at McDonald's, she found that her wallet still had all of her IDs and credit cards, but the cash was missing, he explained.

Armijo told police she thought her vehicle was locked.

According to Forrester, video surveillance is being reviewed.
