KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Avila scored with one second left in regulation to tie the match 2-2 and neither team could score in two overtime periods as the Kansas Wesleyan women's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw with the Eagles on Wednesday night at the Zarda Multisport Complex.

Avila received a direct kick after a foul and yellow card with four seconds left in regulation and Megan Nugent for the Eagles was able to slide the ball over the line before time expired to force extra time in the match.

The equalizer was the lone goal of the second 45 as the Coyotes had built a 2-1 lead and held it for nearly 70 minutes.

Avila took an early lead in the eighth minute on a goal by Nugent on a direct kick, but less than a minute later, the Coyotes were awarded a penalty and Leoni Enzlmuller (FR/Linz, Austria) converted to tie the match.

Maleia Jackson (FR/Belton, Mo.) put the Coyotes ahead in the 21st minute with a goal assisted by Mariah Sigala (SR/South El Monte, Calif.).

The Coyotes had a pair of chances in the first overtime period but could not covert. The Coyotes continued on the offensive in the second extra 10 but again could not find the net.

Wesleyan dominated the final sheet outshooting Avila 25-5 in the match, with 12 of the shots on frame. Kayla Deaver (SR/Lee's Summit, Mo.) had six shots to lead the Coyotes.

The Coyotes are back in action on Sunday, facing the Bethany Swedes at Noon at the Graves Family Sports Complex.
