Virgil’s life began on July 19, 1959, in El Dorado. He was the son of Florus and Rose Gertrude (Faunce) Talkington.
Virgil was a heavy equipment operator for many years. He enjoyed fishing, four-wheelers, barbequing, and spending time with his family.
Virgil is survived by his wife Barbara; son Carey (Ann Marie) Penrod of Florence; three grandchildren; brother Jess (Rosetta) Burns; sister Rose Ann (Don) Scott; sister Evalyn (Dennis) Barrett; brother Doug (Vicki) Talkington; sister Carrie Talkington; and sister Patty (Terry) Bentley; and several nieces and nephews.
Virgil passed away on October 1, 2021, at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
He is preceded in death by his father and a sister, Dora.
Private graveside services will be held at the Burns Cemetery. Yazel-Megli Funeral Home, Marion, is serving the family.
