A Salina man was arrested after a witness to a hit-and-run wreck followed him and reported his license plate number to police.
At approximately 5 p.m. Tuesday, a southbound 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe struck the back of a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan that had stopped at a stop sign in the 600 block of Fairdale Road, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning.
A witness reported seeing the Tahoe then fleeing north on Fairdale Road. The witness followed the Tahoe and was able to send to police a photo of the license plate when the Tahoe was on W. Elm Street near the police station, Forrester said.

A Saline County Sheriff's deputy then saw the Tahoe in the 1100 block of Park Street. A Hispanic man who was sitting in the driver's seat of the SUV fit the description given by the witness. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Christian Rodriguez, 23, of Salina.
Rodriguez was arrested on the following requested charges, Forrester said.
Driving while a habitual violator
Driving with a revoked license
No proof of insurance
Following too closely
Failure to stop and report and injury or damage accident over $1,000
