An Abilene man was arrested by Salina Police after allegedly assaulting a woman from Abilene.
According to the Salina Police Department (SPD) on the evening of Friday, July 25th, two people from Abilene, KS were leaving downtown Salina after attending 'weekend events.' Allegedly, a man identified as 32-year old Jonathan Picking and a 32-year old woman got into an argument on Ohio St.
During the argument, it was reported that when the woman attempted to call police that Picking 'took the phone away from her and threw it away in a backyard of a home.' SPD stated that Picking also 'knocked a cup out of her hand, which caused a minor injury to the woman.'
SPD officers then tracked the phonecall and arrived to the area where Picking and the woman were at. Officers then arrested Picking without incident and booked him into the Saline County Jail on the following requested charges:
Robbery, Domestic Battery and Criminal Damage to Property.
The victim did not need any medical treatment from the injury she suffered on her hand.
