Tampa - Frieda Johanna Bentz, 103, passed away January 6, 2022 at her residence rural Tampa. She was born January 27, 1918 to John and Helena (Ottensmeier) Backhus at Tampa.
She married Otto Bentz March 14, 1943, rural Tampa.
Survivors include: daughter-in-law Virginia Bentz of Tampa; granddaughter Cheri Bentz of Tampa; great-grandson Tyler (Jessica) Bentz of Tampa; great-great-grandson,Jase Bentz; brother Wilbert Backhus of Tampa.
Predeceased by: husband Otto Bentz in 2009; son Alan Bentz in 2021; brothers Erwin Backhus, Emil Backhus, Adolph Backhus, Harry Backhus, John Backhus, Jr., Edwin Backhus, Herbert Backhus; sisters Alma Meyer, Ella Heidemann, Wilma Nunn.
Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at St. John's John Lutheran Church in Tampa officiated by Rev. Clark M. Davis. Interment at St. John's Lutheran cemetery, four miles North of Tampa. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
