Salina Post
The City of Salina has recently announced of installing yielding sings for bike riders.
The signs say "Begin Right Turn Lane Yield to Bikes" and have been installed so far at two locations:
Eastbound Iron Avenue, west of Ohio Street, and southbound Santa Fe Avenue, north of Crawford Street.
According to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), these signs are optional at sites where motor vehicles enter a mandatory right-turn lane and must merge across bicycle lanes.
According to the City, the purpose for these signs are aimed to enhance awareness and understanding of bike lane markings on roadways.
