Police deployed a K-9 unit to locate an alleged suspect after a Salina business was broken into Saturday night.
Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning that officers responded to a burglar alarm at Rent One, 1123 W. Crawford Street, at 10 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they found the front doors secured, and someone from the business let them in.
While checking the business, an officer noticed the back door was open. When he stepped through the door into the alley, he saw a man holding a tool bag. The man fled on foot. A K-9 unit was deployed and located the man, who was identified as James Miller, 33, of Salina, in the back yard of a residence in the 700 block of Windsor Drive.

Forrester said that when Miller was arrested, he allegedly was in possession of a 9mm handgun.
Additionally, the following items were found to have been taken from the store, Forrester said.
●A Dewalt four-piece power tool set valued at just under $500
●Two Porter-Cable power tool sets valued at $800 each
●A Swagtron EB5 Pro Plus electric bicycle valued at $1,100
●A 43-inch Hisense television valued at $640
All items but the television were recovered in the alley behind the business. Forrester said police believe another individual also was involved in the burglary.
Miller was arrested on the following requested charges, Forrester said.
●Burglary
●Theft
●Criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon
