🏐 Coyote Volleyball sweeps Friends to close out regular season, earns No. 5 seed

Kansas Wesleyan Women's Volleyball gave the 2025 seniors a night to remember in the Coyotes' home finale against Friends University on Saturday night at Mabee Arena.

Fueled by a loud and supportive crowd the Coyotes cruised to a 25-20, 25-16, 25-12 win over the Falcons.

With the win, the Coyotes earn the No. 5 seed in the KCAC tournament which starts Tuesday. KWU will head to Oklahoma Wesleyan who was awarded the No. 4 seed after conference officials made the determination of the seeds based on tiebreakers.

The Coyotes were down in the first set but as many as five points at 19-14 before making a comeback. Rylee Serpan started the Coyote rally with a kill and the Coyotes rattled off seven straight points to take a 21-19 lead. Friends got a point before the Coyotes closed things out scoring the final four to take the set 25-20.

Wesleyan didn't mess around in the second set, pulling away down the stretch in the set.

KWU led 6-3 in the final set but quickly pushed the lead out to 13-4. The Coyotes led 22-12 when Serpan would serve out the match with four points.

Joey Pennington led the Coyotes with 10 kills and Serpan had nine. KWU hit .300 as a team. Blair Pennington had 13 assists and Sara Bebout had 17. Tristyn Hedman had 10 digs.
