Slide tubes and chairs do not go together, as someone who broke into Kenwood Cove found out.
Sometime between 8 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Saturday, someone entered the fenced-in area of Kenwood Cove and put chairs from the aquatic park into two slide tubes, Salina Police Captain Gary Hanus said this morning. The chairs became stuck and caused gouges and scratches inside the fiberglass tubes.
Kenwood Cove does not yet have an estimate of what it will take to repair or replace the damaged portions of the tubes, but the damage is believed to be more than $1,500, Hanus said.
