If you're planning to run for office in Saline County and haven't yet filed, you'd better hurry. The filing deadline is noon on Tuesday!
You can file in the Saline County Clerk's Office, room 215 of the City-County Building, 300 W. Ash Street.
The primary election is scheduled for Aug. 3, with the general election on Nov. 2.
In Salina, three seats each are up for election on the Salina City Commission and USD 305 Board of Education.
In the Salina City Commission election, Jerry R. Ivey II, Douglas K. Alt, Chad Farber, and current Commissioner Michael L. Hoppock have filed to be on the ballot. The positions are currently held by Aaron Peck, Melissa Rose Hodges, and Hoppock.
In the USD 305 race, Jim Fletcher and Gabe Grant have filed for re-election. As of the last update to the list on Thursday, Emma Doherty had not filed for re-election.
USD 306 Southeast of Saline has three positions on the ballot. Steve Bartholomew and Jill Ade have filed for re-election. They will be joined on the ballot by Kenneth Costigan and Todd Mobray.
USD 307 Ell-Saline also has three positions on the ballot. Shane Schneider, Healther Hardesty, and Martin Kramer all have filed for re-election. David Hiechel also is on the ballot.
In USD 393 Solomon, which includes parts of both Saline County and Dickinson County, Wade Walker and Denise Miller have filed for re-election. They will be joined on the ballot by Leannitta Heller.
According to the list provided by the Saline County Election Office, no Saline County residents have yet to file for USD 240 Twin Valley (Bennington) and USD 400 Lindsborg.
Additionally, city council positions also are on the ballot for Assaria, Brookville, Gypsum, New Cambria, and Smolan. Central Kansas Extension District No. 3 and Dayton Drainage District No. 1 positional also are on the ballot.
