Salina woman arrested after alleged incident at east Salina liquor store

A local woman was arrested Monday after she allegedly threw rocks at a cooler in an east Salina liquor store.

Officers were sent to Hillside Liquor, 1200 E. Crawford Street, at 7 p.m. Monday for the report of a woman being disorderly, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning.

When officers arrived, an employee of the liquor store reported that the woman, identified as Michelle Mitchell, 34, of Salina, allegedly was upset and had been throwing rocks at the glass door of a cooler. Damage to the cooler was estimated at $1,000.

Additionally, Mitchell allegedly took five items of liquor valued at approximately $45, Forrester said.

Mitchell had left the liquor store by the time the police arrived. Officers located and arrested Mitchell at her residence.

Forrester said Mitchell was arrested on the following requested charges.

●Theft
