MANHATTAN ā For the second time in the five-year history of the program, K-State soccer garnered the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for its performance in the classroom during the 2019-20 academic year.
United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of high school and college soccer teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full academic year.College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster.
During the 2019-20 academic year, K-State registered a team grade point average of 3.62 and had a program-best 17 combined selections for the Academic All-Big 12 First and Second Teams. The Wildcats also tied the program high with six student-athletes collecting Big 12 Academic All-Rookie Team honors.
Of the eight Big 12 programs to earn the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award, K-State ranked fourth in the league based on team GPA.
