Wind advisories have been issued for multiple counties in our area beginning this evening.
The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a wind advisory in effect from 6 p.m. Wednesday to 7 a.m. Thursday for the following counties in our area.
Ellsworth County
Lincoln County
Marion County
McPherson County
Saline County
Southwest winds at 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected. Meanwhile, a cold front will push southward tonight with winds switching to the northwest at 25 to 35 mph and gusts up to 50 mph.
Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high-profile vehicle.
The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a wind advisory in effect from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 7 a.m. Thursday that includes Dickinson County.
South winds at 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected. Winds will shift to the northwest after 3 a.m. and begin to subside.
