Eugene Joseph (Gene) Mick was born September 16, 1944 to Conrad and Ann (Thummel) Mick. He died Saturday, December 12, 2020 at his home at the age of 76.
He worked for 49 years for Richardson Manufacturing, Sunflower Manufacturing, and Agco Corp. in the tool and die department.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Gilbert Greiner; brothers, Richard and Randy Mick; and sisters, Betty Hilgers, Millie Mick, and Lois Otto.
Gene is survived by his wife Linda; mother-in-law, Geneva Winkel; children, Wendy Vowinckel of Rio Rancho, NM, Adam (Jody) Vowinckel of Glen Elder, and Nathan (Jini) Vowinckel of Carbondale, KS; five grandchildren, Autumn, Austin, Olivia, Samuel, and Neal Vowinckel; brother Lee (Denelle) Mick of Cawker City; sisters, Rita Moritz of Cawker City and Marilyn (Dan) Mills of Gorham; sister-in-law, Marcia Mick of Concordia; and many nieces and nephews.
A family-only funeral service will be on Thursday, December 17 at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Cawker City, followed by a public graveside service at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery. A rosary service will be at 7 PM Wednesday at the Church, and visitation will be from 5 PM until the rosary service Wednesday at the Church. Face masks and social distancing will be required. Memorials may be given to the Church.
