Police: Salina man with outstanding warrant fights with officers

A Salina man with an outstanding warrant gets into a scuffle with law enforcement before his arrest.

According to tthe Salina Police Department (SPD) on June 25 at around 7:50 pm, officers responded to the intersection of Cloud and Broadway for a welfare check of a male who was acting suspicious.

Upon arrival, law enforcement determined the individual to be 44-year-old Brandon Paul of Salina. 

Paul was found to have an outstanding warrant from the Saline County District Court for Failure to Appear, according to SPD. 

When officers attempted to take Paul into custody he resisted and shoved an officer. Additional officers arrived to the scene to assist taking Paul into custody and was eventually apprehended.

Police transported Paul to Salina Regional Health Center, where he was cleared, then to the Saline County Jail, where he was arrested for the requested charges of Battery LEO and Interference with LEO, as well as the outstanding warrant.

No officers were injured.
