Two minor quakes shake part of eastern Marion County Monday

MARION - Two small earthquakes rattled parts of Marion County within minutes of each other early this morning.

According to information from the Kansas Geological Survey, a 2.5 magnitude quake struck at 12:02 a.m. Monday near the Marion-Chase county line. It was centered northeast of the Clover Road-220th Street intersection.

Then, at 12:08 a.m. Monday, a 2.4 magnitude quake struck a bit east of the first, just west of the Marion-Chase county line.
