Jeep stolen from central Salina early Wednesday

Police are investigating the theft of a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee from a central Salina neighborhood early Wednesday.

Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester reported today that sometime between midnight and 4 a.m. Wednesday, someone stole a gray 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee from the 600 block of Highland Avenue.

Paige Norwood, 28, of Salina, told police that she was visiting a resident in the 600 block of Highland Avenue and left her Jeep, with license tag of KS 344FPF, parked on the street, according to Forrester. The vehicle was unlocked and the keys were left in the vehicle, he noted. Additionally, $500 that was left in the vehicle also is missing, he reported.

A neighbor reported seeing the Jeep at midnight and then the vehicle was gone at 4 a.m., Forrester explained.

Total loss was estimated at $13,500, he noted.
