James D. Carlson, 82, of Salina, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021. He was born in Brookville, to Arnold and Sarah (Gebhart) Carlson. He graduated from Bavaria High School in 1956. For over 20 years, he worked as a truck driver for Roadway Express.

On April 21, 1963 he was united in marriage with Phoebe Arnold. James enjoyed watching rodeos, traveling, doing yard work and watching the OU Sooners. His love and passion were his family, he always put them first. Time was never taken for granted when they were around him.

Survivors include his wife Phoebe, of the home; children, Mandy Gould (Robert), of Loveland, CO and Michele Dubbert (Phil), of Fort Collins, CO; grandchildren, Cody Gould (Liz), Tyler Dubbert and Alison Dubbert; sister Virginia Burr, of Salina.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Patti.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2021 at Heartland Worship Center. Burial will follow in Gypsum Hill Cemetery.
