Alyce Amanda (Morgan) Honeycutt passed from this life on April 6, 2023, in the comfort of her home in Seabrook, Texas. She was born on November 12, 1942, in Belleville, Kansas. She was the daughter of Fred Pete and Gladys Pauline (Dodge) Morgan.
Amanda grew up in Belleville and attended Belleville Public School.
She was married in October, 1960, and to this union two children were born, Staci and Sean.
Amanda attended Cosmetology school in Salina, Kansas, and became a beautician. She then decided to become a teacher, always believing in higher education. She attended Cloud County Community College, Kansas State University, and the University of Houston – Clear Lake. She received degrees in elementary education, a master's in learning disabled, a certificate in gifted and a degree in administration.
On December 31, 1991, Wendall Bryan Honeycutt and Amanda were married at her friend’s home in Kremlin, Colorado. Amanda and Wendall enjoyed traveling, shopping, listening to music, dancing, and being by the water.
Her grandkids meant everything to her. She loved taking them to museums, movies and Galveston. Besides being an avid reader, she loved decorating her home and was always surrounded by beautiful things.
Alyce Amanda Morgan Honeycutt is preceded in death by her parents Fred Pete and Gladys Pauline Morgan, sisters Fredda Lash, Bert Sasser, Arletha Taylor, and brothers Jack Morgan and Jerry Morgan.
Amanda is survived by her husband Wendall Honeycutt of the home, daughter Staci Strnad and her husband Jon of Belleville, son Sean Jensen of Deerpark, Texas, grandchildren Morgan and Grant Strnad of Belleville, and great-grandson Ryder Strnad. She is also survived by her sister Cheryl Eickmann and her husband Steve of Belleville.
Visitation will be Friday, April 14, 2023, from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., with family greeting friends from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home in Belleville.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 15, at 2:00 p.m., at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home, with Pastor Kevin Weston officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery, rural Talmo, Kansas.
Memorials are requested to the Belleville Public Library to benefit children’s programs, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
