Week four sent Southeast of Saline (3-0) to Marysville for a district game with the Bulldogs.
SES would start the game with the football but would turn it over on downs after failing to convert a fourth and one at their own 31-yard line.
Marysville took advantage of the short field scoring a touchdown with junior quarterback Grady Schroedl.
The Bulldogs took an 8-0 lead after adding the two point PAT with 6:11 left in the first quarter.
The two teams battled, and with 7:51 left in the second quarter, Southeast of Saline would commit the first of three turnovers via an interception.
The SES defense held and got the ball back. The Trojan offense put together its best drive of the night, but that drive ended with an SES fumble on first-and-goal from the three-yard line with 1:45 left in the first half.
Schroedl took the Bulldog offense down the field to start the second half and scored again, this time on a 27-yard play. Marysville missed the PAT but still led 14-0.
A big Southeast spurt followed, with the Trojans scoring on a two play drive capped by Tiernan Ptacek throwing a 35 yard pass to Casson Klover. On the third play of the ensuing Marysville drive, the Bulldogs fumbled the ball to Elijiah Kejr for SES.
On the next play, Ptacek went back to Klover scoring on a 38-yard pass play. The two point conversion was successful and the game was tied at 14.
On the very next offensive play, JT Becker scored for Marysville on a 53 yard touchdown run. Marysville scored again in the fourth quarter to grab the win 28-14.
SES totalled 280 yards (280 passing and 166 rushing), while Marysville racked up 313 rushing yards and completed only 2 passes for 25 yards. The Trojans committed three turnovers and two turnovers on downs in the game.
The win by Marysville snaps the state's longest regular season winning streak at 51 games.
SES's last regular-season loss occurred in 2019.
Southeast of Saline (3-1) will step out of district next Friday, 10/2, as they travel to Wichita to battle Wichita Collegiate (1-3).
