Kenneth E. Collins, 87, of Abilene, passed away on October 31, 2024. Kenneth was born on June 7, 1937, to Earl and Lois (Gier) Collins in a barn in Sand Springs, Kansas. Growing up in Abilene, Kenneth attended Abilene schools and graduated from Abilene High School in 1955.
On June 15, 1958, he married the love of his life, Arden Habacker, and together they shared over 50 years of marriage, raising two children, Kim and Steve. Kenneth built a fulfilling career as a technical illustrator with E-Systems, where he worked with dedication until his retirement. He was a member of the Abilene Lions Club, serving his community with pride.
Kenneth is survived by his daughter Kim Krewson and her husband, Scot; three grandchildren: Sara Baier and husband, Alan; Sadi Krewson; and Spencer Krewson; three great grandchildren: Braydon Baier, Bryer Baier, and Alice Baier; and his sister, Maxine Connor. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Arden, his son Steve Collins, and his siblings Jerry Collins and Nell Jean Keller.
Kenneth’s life will be remembered for his warmth, hard work, and commitment to family and community. His legacy lives on through the love he gave to his family and friends, who will miss him dearly.
Celebration of life will be November 15th @11:00am at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home with interment following at the Abilene City Cemetery.
