Gwendolyn Mae Sharpe, age 88, of Richmond, Indiana, died Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Arbor Trace.
Born February 26, 1935, in Herington, Kansas, to Otto and Emma Bloomenkamp Brockmeier, Gwendolyn lived in Richmond most of her life.
She graduated from Hope High School in Hope, Kansas, in 1953. After graduation, Gwendolyn attended Brown Mackie Business College.
She married Robert Eugene Sharpe on December 12, 1954.
Gwendolyn worked as a seamstress at Elder-Beerman and Graham Cleaners. She was a member of Faith United Lutheran Church in Richmond. Gwendolyn enjoyed sewing, going out to eat, and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughters Marcia (Dan) Seidel of Saint Charles, Missouri, and Diane (Dick Ferriell) Sharpe of Richmond; sons Mike (Jennifer) Sharpe of Liberty, Indiana, and Gary Sharpe of St. Augustine, Florida; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert Eugene Sharpe, who died September 17, 2019; son Mark Sharpe; parents; and sister Dorothy Sondergard.
Visitation for Gwendolyn Mae Sharpe will be from 5:00 to7:00 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2023, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2023, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Dunham officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills, Herington, Kansas.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday May 2, 2023 at Sunset Hill, Herington.
