Christ Cathedral announces slate of events for fall season in Salina

Christ Cathedral in downtown Salina announces its schedule of fall-season events- all open to the public.

Highlights are as follows:

*Sunday, August 8, Blessing of Students and Teachers for the back-to-school season, during the 10 a.m. worship service. Students of any age, along with classroom teachers, support staff and college instructors or staff are invited to attend.

*Sunday, October 4, 2 p.m.- Annual Blessing of the Animals in the Cathedral’s shady, fenced gazebo park. All pets must be leashed or crated and well-behaved around others. Each pet in attendance will receive a goody bag and a St. Francis medal for their collar. Enter the park via Eighth or Ninth Streets, on the south end of the Cathedral property at 138 S. Eighth Street

*Sunday, November 11, Blessing and special prayers for all veterans, during the 10 a.m. worship service. Veterans will be recognized as the prayer takes place.

*Sunday, November 28, 5 p.m., Kirking of the Tartans celebration of Scottish culture. Worship service featuring bagpipe and organ music, processional banners, calling of the clans and blessing of family tartans. Supper and a prize drawing in the parish hall immediately follows, plus a whisky tasting in the library.
