Harold "Hal" Francis Wright, 75, of McPherson, Kansas passed away at 9:25 p.m., Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, Kansas.
Harold "Hal" was born in Lawrence, Kansas on January 14, 1948, a son of Harold Ewing and Elizabeth (Fulton) Wright.
Harold attended Dwight grade school and graduated from Dwight Rural High School, Dwight, Kansas in 1966. He then attended McPherson College where he graduated with a bachelor degree in history.
Hal was united in marriage to Lynn K. VanWickler on June 28, 1970 in Hicksville, New York; they divorced in 1989.
Through the years Hal worked for CertainTeed Machinery and eventually started his own businesses, Plastics Extrusion Machinery, Chrome Wright and Chrome Tek.
Hal grew up in the Presbyterian faith.
Hal enjoyed sports, hunting, fishing, auctions, collecting antiques, enjoyed his morning breakfast group at Galva Café and spending time with his friends and family.
He is survived by his longtime companion Phyllis Armstrong, of McPherson, Kansas; his siblings, Stewart Wright, of McPherson, Kansas, James Wright and his wife Susan, of Roswell, Georgia and Carol Ingermanson and her husband Daryl, of McPherson, Kansas.
He is also survived by nieces, Sarah May(Justin), Tess Ingermanson, Rachel Wright, Emily Wright; his cousins, Todd and Becky Goss, Bob and Tami Campbell and Cliff and Tracie White and their children.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Glidden-Ediger-Wiggins Chapel in McPherson, Kansas with Brian Olson officiating. Family requests casual dress for service.
