How it works

You make a gift to a charity's endowment fund at GSCF.You can make a gift to one charity or multiple charities all within a single transaction for "one-stop shopping!"Donations up to a maximum of $3,000 per charity per person (or $6,000 per household) will be matched.

Example: You can contribute $6,000 to two charities ($3,000 each) and both $3,000 gifts will be matched. But if you contribute $6,000 to one charity, only the first $3,000 will be matched. Or your household can contribute $12,000 to two charities ($6,000 each) and both $6,000 gifts will be matched.

But if your household contributes $12,000 to one charity, only the first $6,000 will be matched.100% of your gift will go to the principal of the nonprofit's endowed fund and will generate income based on the Foundation's current spending policy (5%).

Example: A $100 donation will become part of the fund's principal and generate approximately $5.00 every year to support that charity forever.GSCF matches your gift up to 50% in the form of an instant cash grant from a $313,000 match pool to the charity to use for current needs.  All gifts are matched at 50% up to $5,000 per charity. Donations raised over $5,000 will be matched proportionally up to 50%.

Example, if a charity raises $5,000, the first $5,000 is matched at 50%. If the charity raises $7,500, the next $2,500 will be matched proportionally up to 50% based on what's left in the match pool.

The charity may use the match, to include special projects and basic operating costs. Some charities also opt to put the match back into their endowment to meet future needs.

No single charity can receive more than half of the total match.
