The Southeast of Saline softball team got back to their winning ways this week with a pair of dominant run-rule wins over the Minneapolis Lions.
With shortened victories of 10-0 and 13-3, the Lady Trojans move to 11-5 overall and regain their stranglehold on second place in the NCAA at 6-2.
Minneapolis never found the scoreboard in game one thanks to another complete game shutout from Bryna Baird. The sophomore tossed five innings of four-hit ball, fanning five while walking just one.
It was another steady day from top to bottom for the Lady Trojan lineup, as Carly Commerford, Maddie Harris, Chase Gilpin, and Savannah Sutton all posted multi-RBI outings in a dominant 10-0 win.
That lineup picked up right where it left off in game two as all nine spots in the order would produce at least one run scored or driven in.
This time it was Lexi Jacobson’s time to shine in the circle and once again the sophomore delivered allowing just one earned run on three hits, adding four strikeouts in a 13-3 victory for SES.
Southeast will be back in action after a long weekend as they travel to Ellsworth on May 3 before closing out their regular season with a home doubleheader against Russell on May 5.
