Two arrested after car stolen at manufacturing facility

Two people were arrested Wednesday after they were found in a car reported stolen at a north Salina manufacturing facility earlier in the day.

Police were sent to Great Plains Manufacturing, 1621 Dewey Street, for the report of a red 2009 Chevrolet Impala being stolen. The owner, Nicholas Webb, 31, of Salina, told police that he parked the car with the keys left in it behind Building No. 5 at 6 a.m., Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning. Webb noticed later in the morning that the car was gone.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., a patrol officer spotted the car pulling out of the drive at the SureStay Hotel, 1846 N. Ninth Street, Forrester said. The officer stopped the car, which had two people inside, further north at the Pilot Travel Center, 1944 N. Ninth Street.

Driving was Jeremy Stahlman, 45, of Salina. The passenger was Kacie McMurray, 32, of Salina.

Forrester said that methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found in the car.

No damage was done to the vehicle and it was returned to Webb, Forrester said.

Stahlman was arrested on the following requested charges, according to Forrester.

Felony possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute

Felony possession of drug paraphernalia

Felony possession of stolen property

Driving while suspended

Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia

No drug tax stamp

Forrester said that McMurray was arrested on the following requested charges.

Possession of methamphetamine

Possession of drug paraphernalia

No drug tax stamp
