Darlyne Standley, 100, passed away August 10, 2022 at her farm in Courtland, Kansas. She was born on June 16, 1922, in Republic County, the daughter of Darrell George Standley and Eda (Sallman) Standley.
She was a lifelong resident of the rural Courtland area, except for a year during WW II when she moved to Orange, California, and worked in a factory for the war effort. Darlyne remained on the family farm and kept books for the Standley Partnership owned by Darlyne and her two brothers, Ralph and Frank.
She was preceded in death by her parents Darrell and Eda Standley, and her three brothers Raymond, Ralph, and Frank.
Survivors include her aunt Edith Sallman Linden, of Concordia,KS; her sister-in- law Elizabeth Standley of Jamestown, KS; eighteen first cousins, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the Amana Lutheran Church, Scandia, Kansas with PMA Marilyn Dunstan officiating.
Interment will be at the Lutheran Cemetery, Scandia, Kansas.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Scandia, Kansas where the family will greet friends from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
Memorials are suggested to the Amana Lutheran Church or to Meadowlark Hospice.
