Elizabeth “Betty” Bachofer, 98, passed away surrounded by family on June 30th, 2024.

Betty was born on May 29th, 1926, in Salina, Kansas to Frank and Agnes Hoeffner and was the oldest of 5 children. After graduating from Sacred Heart High School, she attended Marymount College, then started working for the Lee Hardware Company as a bookkeeper.

On February 7th, 1948, she was united in marriage to Daniel J Bachofer Jr. Together, they had 6 children: Carol Brent (Dean), Rose Marie Novack (Richard), Teresa Dobson (Randy), Danise Glavin (Curtis), Michael Bachofer (Jennifer), and Mary Lu Bachofer; as well as 10 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren, and 4 Great Great Grandchildren.

Betty and Daniel owned and operated Daniel J Bachofer Plumbing & Heating for over 30 years. Betty enjoyed sewing, square dancing, bowling, and crossword puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Daniel; three brothers, Richard, Robert, and James Hoeffner; sister Virginia Gasper, daughter Teresa Dobson, son-in-law Dean Brent, and granddaughter Shasta Crum.

Visitation will be at Ryan Mortuary from 4 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9th. Family will be present 6 -8 p.m. Rosary to be said at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be at St. Mary’s Parish in Salina, Kansas on Wednesday, July 10th, 10 a.m.  Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to Betty’s home caregivers, the staff of Presbyterian Manor, and Gentiva Hospice of Salina for all the love and care they have given Betty.

Flowers can be sent to Ryan Mortuary or Memorials can be made to Gentiva Hospice of Salina or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in care of Ryan Mortuary.
