Two quakes shake parts of Marion Co. within minutes of each other

MARION - Two small quakes rattled part of eastern Marion County Saturday evening.

According to the Kansas Geological Survey, the first earthquake struck at 7:07 p.m. Saturday northeast of Marion. The quake was centered just northeast of the Alfalfa Road-240th Road intersection.

Then, at 7:08 p.m. Saturday, a 2.8 magnitude quake struck several miles southeast of the first, just west of the Marion-Chase county line and just south of the east end of 220th Street.
