On Monday, the Kansas Department of Transportation will resume resurfacing work on Interstate 135 in Saline County.
Construction crews will be finishing work on the southbound lanes of I-135 as well as completing the final 12 miles of northbound I-135 between the McPherson/Saline County line and the Interstate 70/I-135 junction, beginning with the I-70 ramps and working from W. Schilling Road north to I-70.
During construction, traffic will be reduced to one 16-foot lane at a reduced speed through the work zone. Drivers should expect minimal delays, not exceeding five minutes.
APAC-Kansas Inc. Shears Division of Hutchinson is the prime contractor and has scheduled this $17 million project to now be completed in June 2023, weather permitting.
KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone. To stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas, go to www.kandrive.org or call 5-1-1.
