Lois Fern Hendricks, 87, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2023, in Ellsworth, KS. She was born October 10, 1936, in Hutchinson, KS, to Glenn and Opal (Lamont) Avery. Lois married Darrel Morris in Kingman, KS, on March 26, 1955. Shortly after their union, Darrel passed serving in the Korean War. She later married Homer Frank Hendricks on November 5, 1956.

Lois worked as a dispatcher for the Ellsworth County Sheriff’s Office for many years. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi and Eastern Star and member of the Ellsworth Methodist Church and the Crown Lighters bowling league, serving as the secretary.

Lois is survived by her daughter Gale Soukup (Steven) of Ellsworth; grandsons, Andrew Soukup (Virginia) of Ellsworth and Daniel Soukup (Dani) of Ellsworth; great grandchildren, Lexi, Katelyn, Daxton, Davin, and Ayden; sister Glendolyn Van Etten of Satanta, KS; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Darrel Morris; and infant brother Glenn Edgar Avery, Jr.

Funeral service: 10 a.m., Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Ellsworth Methodist Church.

Burial service: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
